Your Senior Sign should include the following

Format
  • 8 ½ x 11 white sheet of unlined paper
  • Times New Roman or Arial font(s), larger than
    size 12. Can you read it hanging above the
    lockers on the wall?
  • 1 ½ inch margin on left (to allow for portfolio
    binding) 1 inch margins top, right, bottom

Elements
  • (the order/arrangement is up to you, although we
    suggest you align it vertically)
  • Title of Research Paper
  • Your name (first and last) in LOWER RIGHT hand
    corner
  • Thesis statement
  • Graphic Organizer or photo

Color
  • A. How effective is the use of color?
  • B. Is there much color? (It should be
    4-/full-color, not B W)
  • C. Is the color appealing (or distracting)?
  • D. Is color used symbolically to support thesis?

Shape
  • What shape does your photo/graphic organizer
    take?
  • Is/are the shape(s) interesting?
  • Is the font easy to read? Is it clear from a
    distance? Is the font style appropriate?

Organization/Lines
  • Is the sign organized?
  • Does it have clean lines? (Can it be easily read
    left to right, top to bottom)
  • Is it too simplistic or complicated?
  • Do the lines relate to the topic? (Is the topic
    complicated? Is the sign complicated?)

Unique Properties/Creativity
  • Does this sign show effort and thought? (Or did
    you simply download a quick picture and add your
    thesis.)
  • Is your sign different and/or unique?
  • Does the sign have a personal, creative touch
    that reflects your individuality?

Images and Layout
  • Is the image appropriate for/related to the
    thesis?
  • Are the images and words organized well on the
    page?
  • Are the images and the sign as a whole a
    professional/quality piece?
  • Is the overall layout balanced?
