4Why were changes made to the private applicator

- EPA had been encouraging N.C. to update its

issues.

- New Private Applicators will now be required to
pass a written examination. - All Private Applicators will now be required to
obtain 2 hours of specialty training.
6What has stayed the same?
- Private Applicators who currently hold valid
certification will not be required to pass a
written exam. - Private Applicators will still be required to
attend the mandatory recertification class
(safety training) at their local CES every 3
years. - Private Applicators who fail to renew their cards
by their recertification deadline (Sept. 30 of
the third year of their certification period)
will be required to pass a written exam to obtain
a new card.
