future. But dont you want to know about your
future sometimes? Some people even ask fortune
tellers about their future. Other people use
Tarot cards to predict what is going to happen in
the near future. But do you think it will be
helpful to know all about your future? Do you
believe in destiny? Here, Amy and Paul are
talking about this topic.

Amy Hey, Paul, do you know where todays
newspaper is? Paul Here it is. I didnt kn
ow that you read the newspaper every day.
Amy To tell you the truth, I just read my
horoscope. I need to know whats
going to happen today, so I can prevent bad

Paul Do you really believe in horoscopes?
Amy Of course I do. I believe in destiny.
And I want to know all about my future. Dont
you want to know what you will grow up to be?
Paul Well, thats totally up to me. Lets say
a fortuneteller told me all about my future and
said I will grow up to be president of our
country. Even so, if I dont make any effort, I
wont be able to be president. Most importantly,
even very famous fortunetellers cannot tell
exactly whats going to happen in the future.
Amy Hmm But sometimes the newspaper horoscope
predicts my future exactly. The other day, it
said I would meet one of my old friends, and
thats exactly what happened that day! I bumped
into my long-lost friend Anna in front of the

Paul Well, that was just a coincidence. That
kind of thing can happen any time. I guess
reading your horoscope every day for fun is ok.
But if you are too obsessed by it, its not good.
If you knew all about your future, would you be
happier and live a better life?
Amy Not really. I guess my life will be boring
if I already know whats going to happen next.
Its like watching a movie that Ive already
watched before. Paul There you go. Amy No o
ne knows whats going to happen in the future.
Sometimes it can make us feel nervous, but it
makes our lives more exciting! We are
responsible for our own destiny.
