engagement program. - Luke will play a pivotal role in championing the
program amongst the playing group and driving
our commitments with our community partners.

16- Player appearances will be managed centrally by
Alex Riewoldt
- The full playing group will make one appearance
each year - Appearances will be flexible around existing
player commitments - Priority to organisations that players want to
be aligned with
17- We will open the dialogue between the Club and
the Victorian Government
- Working closely with AFL Government Relations
- Briefing all MPs in our zone on the Community
Program when Cabinet sits in February. We will
take Ball / Clarke / Montagna to the meeting. - Entertain Saints supporters and invite to events
on the pretence that they can do something for
us - Reach a stage where MPs invite our players to
open new schools in our region - This should result in considerable Government
funding for our program
18- Player visits to approximately 70 schools across
the City of Bayside, City of Kingston and City
of Port Phillip. - Two school programs
- Healthy Choices (grades 5 6)
- Choices Consequences (Grades 8 9)

young people - Hold pre-match events for SaintsSquad members
19- AIM To develop and implement a schools based
community education program. - The Healthy Choices program delivered by elite
athletes will
- Improve the health and nutrition of students
- Encourage students to be aware of how their
choices impact healthy lifestyles - Analyse who and what influence their healthy
choices - Aid students to identify and set goals to improve
their health and the health of those close to
them - Engage and enlighten the entire school community
about health and nutrition - Increased learning and performance outcomes

21- This program gives Saints an opportunity to
- Heighten its image and build brand awareness in
the Bayside region. - Creates the opportunity for sponsorship through
companies willing to put their brand into the
concept. - Opportunity to increase membership numbers
through club representation in numerous schools
as well as the opportunity to have advertising in
booklets, endorsing Saints web site and possible
give a ways and prizes. - Great opportunity to develop relationships within
local municipalities and schools in the Frankston
region.
22- This program gives the players an opportunity to
- Receive facilitation training
- Have the responsibility of organising the
sessions with the schools - Opportunity to gain confidence in public speaking
- Share stories of personal achievement and some of
the major difficulties that athletes had to face
in order to attain their goals. - Improve their decision making by practising what
they preach in continually delivering key
messages to students. - Partake in some form of activity away from the
football club to ease the stress and get their
minds off football to help their performance - Acting as positive role models in the community
23- Healthy Choices
- Grade 5 6 students
- 3 sessions running in each school, concurrently
- Sessions are 1 hour long including 15 minutes
football exercise time - The short football clinic at the end will include
giveaways - 1 experienced player with 2 x 1st, 2nd or 3rd
year players - 4-5 interactive activities per session
- The handouts to players will include
- Basic lesson plan
- Questions to ask
- SaintsSquad hand-out for students
- 1st, 2nd and 3rd year players earn approx 150
per session - Structure will be 1 week on and 3 weeks off
24- Choices Consequences
- Encourage young people to accept responsibility
for their choices - Provide tools to assist in making positive
lifestyle choices - Explore their role as friends in supporting
positive choices of others
25- Choices Consequences
- Grades 8 9 (13 14 years old)
- Aimed at high school students with greater
propensity for cultural issues - Session 1.5 hour session follow up with a 45
min session two weeks after
26Player Training
- Community Ambassadors Luke Ball, Xavier Clarke
and Leigh Montagna will conduct training with the
playing group selected to partake in the
SaintsSquad program. - Training will involve an outline of the program
and offering advice from experience and
suggestions to run a successful program. - Players will be provided with details on the
school, contact details and date. It will then
be up to each player to reach out to the school
and organise their lesson with the
principle/teacher in appropriate time.
