3New perspectives for local rural landscapes
Research and education in real context
Colaboration between universities and
stakeholders Aknowledging different knowledge
traditions Learning from similarities and
contrasts Long term cooperation and exchanges
Personal engagement
4LEARNING about rural landscapes and their
management need to come out in local context make
contrasting experiences sharpening of senses
raising new questions questionning
methods relating to theory and concepts
5DISCUSSING about analysis and design discussion
and work in between disciplines and
nationalities with contrasting traditions and
experiences clarification of concepts alternat
ives gtgt potentialities and constrains strenghts
of each discipline and complementarity with
others
6What this can bring to the local territory

11Some limitations of our teaching programme
- Too short time it can be hard to get to know
and thus understand each other - Lack of understanding and different methods
competitivity between disciplines - Heavy organization logistic and pedagogic
12but remarkable stakes
- a demonstration that the students work can be a
tool - that facilitates the discussion
- in a participative approach of a local
development project - an educational experimentation
- mixing different specialities and origins
- theoretical courses are linked to the practical
work
