3Plan Prepare for the Move
At the beginning of the final academic year in

- Inform faculty of Media Center Closing Date
(allow at least 4 weeks to pack) - Enter closing date into computer as due date for
all materials
4WEED, WEED WEED SOME MORE
- Dont waste your time and energy packing books
and items that havent been used in ages. - You will not want to fill your new media center
with old books. - If you are wiping off a layer of dust to pack it,
toss it out!
5Your shelf list is your friend
- Before packing print out a shelf list for each
section - Make sure books are in order before packing
- When you start unpacking you will be thankful
that your books are already in order!
6Try to get free stuff
- Ask your book vendors for boxes, packing
materials, etc. - Most of the time they are willing to help
- If they say yes, youve saved lots of money you
can use towards decorating your new space.
7MISSION ORGANIZATION

when - you move into your new space
- Label boxes with colored signs for each
