Rules and Guidelines
  • The Company Secretary must be familiar with the
    contents of the Legal Responsibilities and
    Insurance Cover section of the website guidance
  • Trading is supported by a 10M product and public
    liability insurance policy however there are
    restrictions see Prohibited Products on the
    online guidance
  • Companies are not allowed to use electronic
    banking or payment service providers or engage in
    credit card transactions
  • There are rules about the Share Capital that must
    be followed
  • If setting up an external website students must
    follow the guidance on the web site fact sheet

Rules and Guidelines
  • Charitable status
  • Young Enterprise is a registered charity.
  • As a consequence Young Enterprise companies
    cannot trade on the fact that they plan to donate
    money to another charity.
  • At the AGM when the final accounts are presented
    to the shareholders a vote can be taken if the
    company wishes to donate some of the profits to a
    charity. Any giving should be after YE VAT and
    Corporation Tax have been taken into account.
