Power Point
PowerPoint won't turn a bad presentation into a
good one, and it won't convert an ineffective
presenter into an effective one. "If your words
or images are not on point, making them dance in
color won't make them relevant. Edward Tufte
24
Practical Tips
  • When doing a power point presentation set up the
projector five minutes before the children arrive
so there is no waiting time to allow for any
    disruption
  • Do check your connections and for video and data.
  • Don't touch the projection lens
  • After use, make sure the projector is powered
down properly and the lamp has had a chance to
    cool down.
  • Use compressed air to clean fan.

25
Techie Stuff
  • To avoid damaging the projector and lamp, allow
the cooling fan to run for at least 2 minutes
    before turning off the projector.

    on the projector.
  • Keep the fan vent free of dust.
  • Replacement bulb costs 300.00

Greatest Enemy
DUST
  • Think of dust as a blanket, which keeps the chips
of your components nice and hot. The more dust,
    the hotter they get.
  • We all know that there is no dust allowed in
    school.
  • Solicit the help of students to keep dust in your
    room to a minimum.
  • Cover the equipment with a light cloth during
    periods of nonuse.
  • Use the can of compressed air to clean.

29

the source (computer, notebook, DVD, etc.). The
Power button light blinks green until pressed.
  • Turn on your source (computer, DVD player, etc.).
The projector automatically detects your source.
  • NOTE Allow the projector some time to search
    for the source.
  • If you have multiple sources connected to the
projector, press the Source button on the remote
