good one, and it won't convert an ineffective
presenter into an effective one. "If your words
or images are not on point, making them dance in

24Practical Tips
- When doing a power point presentation set up the
projector five minutes before the children arrive
so there is no waiting time to allow for any
disruption - Do check your connections and for video and data.
- Don't touch the projection lens
- After use, make sure the projector is powered
down properly and the lamp has had a chance to
cool down. - Use compressed air to clean fan.

the cooling fan to run for at least 2 minutes

- Think of dust as a blanket, which keeps the chips
of your components nice and hot. The more dust,
the hotter they get. - We all know that there is no dust allowed in
school. - Solicit the help of students to keep dust in your
room to a minimum. - Cover the equipment with a light cloth during
periods of nonuse. - Use the can of compressed air to clean.

- NOTE Turn on the projector before you turn on
the source (computer, notebook, DVD, etc.). The
Power button light blinks green until pressed. - Turn on your source (computer, DVD player, etc.).
The projector automatically detects your source. - NOTE Allow the projector some time to search
for the source. - If you have multiple sources connected to the
projector, press the Source button on the remote
control or control panel to select the desired
source.
30Turning Your Projector Off
- NOTE If you press the Power button while the
projector is running, the following message
appears - " Press Power button to Turn Off Projector.
- Projector must cool down for 90 seconds before
unplugging or restarting." The message disappears
in 5 seconds or you can press any button on the
control panel to erase it.
31Troubleshooting Your Projector
- Problem No image appears on the screen
- Possible Solution
- Ensure that the lens cap is removed and the
projector is turned on. - Ensure that the external graphics port is
enabled. If you are using a Dell portable
computer, press Fn F8 . For other computers,
see respective documentation. - NOTE Allow the projector some time to search
for the source. - Ensure that all the cables are securely
connected. - Ensure that the pins of the connectors are not
bent or broken.
32Troubleshooting Your Projector
- Problem Partial, scrolling, or incorrectly
displayed image - Press the Resync button on the remote control or
the control panel. - If you are using a Dell portable computer, set
the resolution of the computer to XGA (1024 x
768) - Right-click the unused portion of your Windows
desktop, click Properties and then select
Settings tab. - Verify the setting is 1024 x 768 pixels for the
external monitor port.
33Troubleshooting Your Projector
- Problem Image is unstable or flickering
- Adjust the tracking in the OSD Computer Image
tab. - Problem Image has vertical flickering bar
- Adjust the frequency in the OSD Computer Image
tab. - Problem Image is out of focus
- Adjust the focus ring on the projector lens.
34Problem Lamp is burned out or makes a popping
sound
- When the lamp reaches its end of life, it may
burn out and may make a loud popping sound. If
this occurs, the projector does not turn back on,
and displays Lamp Defective in the LCD display
until the lamp is replaced. - Notify your tech coordinator using appropriate
form.
35LAMP TEMP indicator
- LAMP light is solid orange
- If the Lamp light is solid orange, replace the
lamp. - TEMP light is solid orange
- The projector has overheated. The display
automatically shuts down. Turn the display on
again after the projector cools down. If the
problem persists, contact Dell. - TEMP light is blinking orange
- A projector fan has failed and the projector
automatically shuts down. If this problem
persists, contact Dell.
