• Why Famous
• she saved Upper Canada from the Americans in the
  year of 1813
• Death
• she died at the age of 93 in the year 1868

• Beginning
• she overheard Americans planning to attack the
  British Force at Beaver Dams
• she decided to warn Lt.FitzGibbon
• she started the journey to Beaver Dams on June
  22,1813
• Middle
• when she reached Beaver Dams she told
  Lt.FitzGibbon the message

• Results
• she found out Americans were beaten 2 days after
  the battle happened
• she was 85 years old, she received an award of
  100 pounds of gold from the Prince of Whales for
  what she did for Upper Canada in 1813

  him about the Americans attacking him and the
  British Force
• Lt.FitzGibbon told her that the credit of the
  victory would belong to her

• A man named Frank OConner had a chocolate shop
  so he chose Laura Secords name for his shop.
  Now,for all these years she is known as a
  chocolate shop and a heroine! All across Canada
  Laura Secords name has been known as a chocolate
  shop. Thats how Lauras name has been alive for
  so long now.

Why I Chose This Topic

• The reason why I chose this topic for my
  Heritage Project is because the treacherous walk
  she did from Queenston to Beaver Dams inspired me
  to learn more about her. I also thought what she
  did for Upper Canada was really heroic!
