Title: Physics for You : Summary

Summary
Fit for life low demand
  • Blood in arteries is under pressure created by
contraction of heart muscles. This is so that
blood reaches all parts of the body.
  • Glucose reacts with oxygen in cells to release
energy. This process is called respiration.
  • During exercise, breathing and pulse rates
increase. This delivers oxygen and glucose to
muscles more quickly, and removes carbon dioxide
    from muscles more quickly.

Summary
Fit for life standard demand
  • Blood pressure measurements have 2 parts, the
diastolic and the systolic. Blood pressure is
measured in millimetres of mercury (mmHg).
  • Age diet, exercise, weight, alcohol intake and
stress are all factors that affect blood
    pressure.
  • Fitness is the bodys adaptation to physical
activity. If you are healthy you are free from
    infection.
  • The word equation for aerobic respiration is
  • glucose oxygen carbon dioxide
    water

  • ( energy).

Summary
Fit for life standard demand
  • During hard exercise, the oxygen supply to the
muscles is not enough for aerobic respiration to
meet energy demand. So anaerobic respiration
takes place as well. Anaerobic respiration
produces lactic acid which accumulates in muscles
    causing pain and fatigue.
  • The word equation for anaerobic respiration is
  • glucose lactic acid (
    energy).
  • Anaerobic respiration releases much less energy
    than aerobic respiration.

Summary
Fit for life high demand
  • High blood pressure can lead to burst blood
vessels, damage to brain, stroke and kidney
    damage.
  • Low blood pressure can lead to dizziness,
    fainting and poor circulation.
  • Fitness can be measured in different ways
    strength, stamina, flexibility, agility, speed,
    and cardiovascular efficiency.

Summary
Fit for life high demand
  • The symbol equation for aerobic respiration is
  • C6H12O6 6O2? 6CO2 6H2O ( energy).
  • Hard exercise causes a lack of oxygen in cells.
If your muscles uses anaerobic respiration
glucose is not broken down completely and lactic
acid builds up. Lactic acid build up causes an
oxygen debt which is removed during recovery.
  • When you recover you continue to pant which
replaces oxygen allowing aerobic respiration to
take place. Increased heart rate ensures blood
carries lactic acid away from the muscles to the
    liver.
