What is Environmental Injustice?

• Environmental Injustice, otherwise known as
  environmental racism, is defined as the
  disproportionate impact that pollution and toxins
  have on people of color indigenous peoples and
  poor people.

• Divide into groups of three and list at least 10
  ways that environmental racism could affect
  people living in those areas.
• List ideas on the board.

• There have been numerous studies that have
  confirmed that a toxic or dangerous facility is
  more likely to be located in a community of color
  (African American, American Indian, Latino, or
  Asian and Pacific Islander) than in a white
  community.
