New Procedures

• Pick-up and drop off will be at the Morris Inn
• We can stand under the awning but please do not
  go inside
• The bus will be leaving on its route earlier so
  should be there by 4 p.m. if bad weather you do
  not need to be there by 345 but be there by 355
• Children should NEVER be inside Morris

• Going straight there
• Snack and discuss discipline on the way
• Sit mentor buddy mentor buddy

Little Buddy Discipline Policy

• As a mentor, you are responsible for the daily
  discipline of your little buddy!!
• Please be active in the activity
• Read activity sheet
• Help GMs with supplies
• Take part in demonstrations
• We will be discussing rules on the 27th

• Second 10 due April 14

How you can raise money?

• Family and Friends Campaign
• Letter writing campaign
• In-Kind Donations
• Wal-Mart, Target, etc.
• Grant writing
• Talk to Katie or Paula for opportunities
• Walk for Kids
• April 5th, 2009 You are expected to attend

Bus Riding Policy

• Pick-up Holy Cross and St. Adalberts or Drop off
  St. Adalberts
• Three mentors each way (you only have to go one
  way)
• Picked up at Morris Inn at 300 to ride there
• Dropped off at Main Circle by 630 when ride back
• Sign up passed around
• YOU ARE IN CHARGE OF DISCIPLINE ON THE BUS

• Mentor Bus Riding Rules
• You ARE the boss, the kids know it so dont be
  afraid to take away dollars
• One mentor needs to sit in the seat facing
  backwards to keep the group under control
• Send the kids as far back as they can go (Holy
  Cross in back, St. Adalberts in front)
• Dollar policy Warn once, dollar second, both
  dollars on third and they need to talk with me
  about possibly not coming back to College Mentors
  next week
• Make the kids ZIP UP their coats

• Use your Inside Voice No Bad Words!
• Big Buddy on the Bus is the BOSS
• Hands to Yourself No touching blinds or people
• NO FOOD ON THE BUS
• School Rules are Bus Rules

Bus Riding Policy

• When the children are picked up
• Holy Cross bring bus into parking lot by
  playground
• St. Adalberts put bus down side street next to
  parking lot on side of street so children do not
  need to cross it
• If the children are not outside, go up to school
  door and ring the buzzer to let them know you are
  there you do not need to go into the school

• When the children are dropped off
• Keep them IN their seats and let them off one at
  a time
• Jenni will handle taking them to their parent,
  but you will have a list with their pictures and
  contact info if needed must only be picked up
  by someone Jenni recognizes
• Wait until EVERY CHILD is picked up before you
  leave

Bus Folder Policy

• We will arbitrarily assign bus folder person
  every week from the people that will be riding
  the bus back to St. Adalberts
• I will give the folder on the ride over and put
  in the DVD to entertain the children
• People riding back, please take DVD out and put
  back in the folder
• Then DROP OFF THE FOLDER IN THE CLUB RESOURCE
  CENTER in the College Mentors Mailbox as close to
  IMMEDIATELY AFTER riding the bus as possible

• You Must Have an IDEA for Activity today
• Must STICK WITH idea
• Sign up for week to plan activity in your week
• Might need to be in pairs if so pair up a new
  mentor with an old
• Let new mentors sign up for later in semester

Activity Planning

• You are responsible for contacting a speaker and
  making an activity sheet for your activity
• Turn sheet in online
• Due TWO WEEKS before your activity
• Lindsey will send reminders in weekly email and
  schedule will be online
• Book and snack will be handled by GM
• Weekly email informs you of topic for the week,
  please look over activity sheets ahead of time
