2- Creating a Photo Gallery
- The images that you select should be scaled
before loading into the CMS. You can use your
choice of photo-management programs (Photoshop,
Paint, Fireworks, GIMP, etc). - Scale images to the size you want them to be
when full-sized, dont worry about thumbnails
(the system creates those automatically!). - The maximum image size is approximately 350
pixels wide. - Images should be saved at 72dpi maximum, as a
web standard. - You can add a photo gallery to an existing page,
or create a brand new page to showcase your
images. - You can find photo galleries in use on many
existing websites in the CMS HEOP, Honors Forum,
Special Programs, and many more!

10The Top-Level Pages Scope Online
What do the changes mean for you?

13Houston, we have a problem
14- The problem
- Pages were designed to have audience-specific
information - Information on each top-level page was not
relevant to each audience - Faculty/Staff saw the same thing as Current
Students. - Current Students saw information they didnt care
about. - Everything looked like the Home page
15- The reason
- All information was created and filtered by one
group.
16- We need to rethink this.
- Make each News story relevant to each audience
- Look at how content is generated by and create
generals for our Content Army - News
- Right Column links
- Events
17- While were at it
- Add announcements
- Department-level buy-in
- Highlight the impact blogs are having on campus
- Expand events
- Use the right column to even more
- Increase interest in the Home page through a
Portfolio/Postcard area - Expand the branding of our news to become Scope
Online
18Put it all in a blender and you get
