  • Data sets may be broadcasted via Radio, and e.g.
  • recorded, stored and analysed over a central
    server
  • sent to instructors PDA (or similar devices)
  • sent to a display
  • Thus, the broadcasting feature allows efficient
and real-time feedback for trainees/customers in
    saftey centres, closed circuits, mobile
    locations, etc.

Overview of Programmes
  • P Examination Drive
  • P Train the Trainer Drive
  • P Coaching Drive
  • P Test Drive
  • P Eco Drive

14
P Examination Drive
  • Examination Drive is for all observation drives
where the driver gets really tested and assessed
  • The test drive is carried out in normal traffic
and/or on a pre-defined route. Clients drive with
their own or provided vehicles. The trip is
    analysed and discussed immediately afterwards,
the coach gives concrete feedback. A judgement is
made whether the candidate has passed the exam or
    not.
  • Length variable, drives for licensing should
last for a minimum of 50 mins., in order to
ensure occurence of various tasks and situations
  • Target groups driving license tests for all
categories, persons who want to get their foreign
    license accepted
  • Organisations like the police, ambulance
services, fire brigade, which have their own
    licenses
  • Companies which employ professional drivers and
have their own licenses (e.g. for taxi drivers,
bus drivers, cash transporters, drivers for
dangerous goods, drivers of gas vehicles,
    chauffeurs, etc.).
  • Another element would be a test for insurance
companies an insured client carries out a
voluntary test drive, his driving style and
performance is assessed. Safe drivers get cheaper
    insurance rates.

15
P Train the Trainer Drive
  • The Train the Trainer Drive programme is for
the training of driving teachers, instructors and
    examiners and evaluation purposes
  • The drive is carried out in normal traffic or on
specific facilities. According to this module,
instructions, feedback and support are recorded
during the trip and analysed by a
    master-trainer afterwards.
  • Length variable, ranging from a normal driving
lesson or examination drive over a training
session to a whole safety training
  • Target group All driving teachers, trainers and
examiners or institutions / companies which want
to train and evaluate their trainers (e.g.
    driving schools, automobile clubs, etc.)

16
P Coaching Drive
  • Coaching Drive is meant to be a product for all
drivers who want to get professional feedback on
their individual driving performance and to get
hints tips for their daily driving routine
  • The coaching drive is carried out in real driving
circumstances on public roads with clients own
vehicles. The trip is analysed and discussed
immediately afterwards, the coach gives concrete
    feedback
  • Length 50 mins. driving, 30 mins. feedback
    discussion
  • Target group Older drivers Persons not driving
a car for a long time Traumatised customers who
want to regain self-conficence, e.g. after an
accident Persons who tend to panic in specific
    driving circumstances (e.g. driving through
    tunnels, driving at night)

17
P Test Drive
  • Test Drive is developed for feedback drives in
the context of 2nd phase education systems for
novice drivers, but also for selection and
    further education purposes for professional
    drivers
  • The test drive is carried out in real driving
circumstances on public roads. Clients drive with
their own or provided vehicles. The trip is
    analysed and discussed immediately afterwards,
the coach gives concrete feedback, possibly the
drive is rated, specific consequences (e.g.
educational measures) may arise from trainers
    assessment
  • Length 50 mins. driving, 30 mins. feedback
discussion professional drivers drive 1,5 hours,
    30 mins. feedback discussion
  • Target group Novice drivers, Companies with
vehicle fleets or specific profiles of
    qualifications for their professional drivers.
Traffic offenders who want to be re-licensed
(e.g. in the context of traffic psychological
    testing)

18
P ECO Drive
  • ECO Drive is a programme for customers to learn
    an economic driving style
  • The eco drive is carried out in real driving
circumstances on public roads. Clients drive with
their own vehicles. The objective of a first
drive (45 mins.) is to detect and analyse the
typical habits (driving style, gear change
    manoeuvres, driving time, fuel consumption).
    Concrete feedback is given immediately
afterwards. The second drive (carried out on the
same route) is performed with on-line
feedback/help from the trainer. The two trips are
    compared afterwards.
  • Length 45 mins. first drive, ca. 15 mins.
discussion, 45 mins. Second drive plus ca. 15
mins. feedback discussion. Total time 2 hours
    approx.
  • Target group all individuals who want to
    reduce/optimise their vehicles fuel consumption
Companies which want to achieve sustainable fuel
    reductions amongst their vehicle fleet(s)

19
Examples for Examination and Eco Drive. In
this context, the driven track and performed
manoeuvres are recorded, similar to a telemetric
system. Optionally, it is possible to record and
display motor data (rpm, pedal angle) or eg.
steering angle over specific interfaces
(especially for permanently equipped vehicles).
