Program Standards
  • Responsible for familiarity with the set of
    program standards you are assigned to focus on

  • CTC Consultant is the resource on interpretation
    of program standards

Report Format
  • The response to each Program is about a page in
    length.
  • Use Times New Roman, 12 pt., 1 inch margins,
    single spaced.
  • Team members must be able to corroborate their
    findings with multiple sources of evidence.
  • Statements made in the Team Report must be tied
    to the standard and supported by evidence.

Report writing
  • No personal opinions.
  • No identification of individualseither positive
    or negative.
  • Grammar and spelling do count.
  • This is a public, professional document.
  • In identifying groups of people, use candidates
    for those in preparation programs and students
    for those in K-12 schools.

Format for the Report
  • Reports are program specific.
  • Summarize the evidence that led to the team
    decision.
  • State if the Standard is Met, Met with Concerns,
    or Not Met.
  • Identify the specific program standard and what
    part of the standard is a concern or not being
    met by the program.

MS and SS Intern Programs
  • Early Completion Option
  • All MS and SS Intern programs must offer an ECO
    in the areas of MS, SS-English, SS-Math, and
    SS-Science IF the program offers the internship
    for the credential.
  • Check on the advising process and how many
    individuals have elected ECO.
  • May not have any candidates who have elected
    ECOthat is ok

ECO Requirements

MS, SS, and Ed Sp Intern Programs
  • 120 hour Pre-Service
  • Required prior to the issuance of the Intern
    Credential.
  • Team members focusing on one of these programs
    should understand the Pre-service component for
    the program and the tracking process to ensure
    that all individuals recommended for the Intern
    Credential have completed the 120 pre-service
    (June 2008).

Programs Transitioning
  • Discuss with your CTC Consultant which standards
    the institution has decided to be reviewed
    against if you are assigned to one of the
    credential areas that is in transition.
  • Lean toward the futurethe concepts and
    requirements in the newly adopted standards while
    holding to quality preparation of candidates.

Utilizing Biennial Reports
  • The Visits in Spring 2009 are the first set to
    have submitted Biennial Reports.
  • Biennial Reports have identified key assessments
    used to assess candidate competency.
