2- What is iLEAP?
- Integrated Louisiana Educational Assessment
Program - Developed to fulfill the requirements of the
federal No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) - The assessment is given in March of each year.
This year it will be administered March 10-14. - There are two types of assessments
norm-referenced and criterion-referenced. - The tests are aligned to Louisianas content
standards, benchmarks, and GLEs.

- Science
- Social Studies
4Is the iLEAP a timed test? Certain areas of the
iLEAP are timed. Others allow the student to
work at his or her own pace however, suggested
testing times are provided to the test
administrator.
5 How many questions are in each section of the
test? What is tested in each area?
6- Language and Reading
- 78 multiple choice questions and 1 writing prompt
- Areas covered are vocabulary, reading
comprehension, spelling, capitalization,
punctuation, usage and expression, using
informational resources and a writing prompt
7- Math
- 50 multiple choice and 2 constructed
response questions - Areas covered are number relationships, algebra,
data analysis and probability, measurement,
geometry, and patterns, relations and functions
8- Science
- 40 multiple choice items
- Areas covered are Science as Inquiry, Physical
Science, Life Science, Earth and Space Science,
and Science and the Environment - Many questions will include interpretation of
data tables or graphs, charts,
illustrations, graphic organizers or maps.
9- Social Studies
- 32 multiple choice items
- Areas covered are Louisiana Geography, Civics,
Economics, and History - Some items will require the student to use a map,
graph, chart, illustration, timeline, picture, or
graphic organizer to answer the question.
10- Will the students receive
- assistance during the test?
- The test administrator has specific directions
- that must be read to the students word for word.
That is all the test administrator can say. The
students will be responsible for reading and
following directions other than what the test
administrator is allowed to provide. - If the student has an IEP, the accommodations
listed in the IEP will be honored on the iLEAP
test.
11How is the iLEAP scored? Student performance on
the criterion-reference test (CRT) components of
iLEAP are reported in terms of an achievement
level Advanced, Mastery, Basic, Approaching
Basic, or Unsatisfactory. In addition,
norm-reference test (NRT) scores are reported for
Math and English Language Arts.
