The Issue Increased competition for new students
requires that the University find ways in which
more students are encouraged to transfer to
Edinboro, while simultaneously promoting academic
integrity. In order to remain competitive,
Edinboro University must continue to review and
improve transfer policies and procedures in the
awarding of credits, as well as shorten
processing turnaround time.
4Strategic Study Group2004-2005Evaluation and
Awarding of Transfer Credits
Improvement Statement To increase the number of
students enrolling from non-regionally accredited
institutions by reducing the time process for
awarding undergraduate transfer credits while
maintaining the highest academic integrity.
5Strategic Study Group2004-2005Evaluation and
Awarding of Transfer Credits
- We focused on non-regionally accredited
institutions because the cycle time was more
extended in that area. (Versus the cycle time
for accredited institutions.) - Two weeks was the average reported cycle
time. - Unfortunately, there were several cases where
evaluations took months. - Improvements to the non-regionally accredited
process can be applied to the accredited
process.

NOTE These numbers reflect
accepted students and not the number of students
who applied. It is not possible to capture the
number of students who applied from the various
transfer institutions because their transfer
credits (and thus the transfer institutions) are
not posted to Banner until they are accepted.
