Connections Sacco Vanzetti, M Butterfly, and
post 9/11

• The Sacco Vanzetti case is controversial because
  the evidence suggests that these men were not
  dealt a fair trial, since the incident took place
  during a time of high American tension about
  immigration. The case can be linked to the play
  M. Butterfly and the 9/11 issues in that
  everything has to do with politics. In M.
  Butterfly, its a case of western dominance over
  the east, but then the west is put to shame. Some
  post-9/11 issues relate to immigration of Middle
  Eastern people into the US. Since there is high
  terrorist activity in those regions, those people
  are being judged. This can be viewed as
  prejudice, or as a nation protecting itself you
  be the judge!

Final Thoughts on Sacco/Vanzetti Websites

• The sites dont really definitely say whether the
  two men were guilty or not. They provide us with
  the facts about the case, and with letters
  written by the men in prison. The sites suggest
  that these two men were really convicted because
  of their anarchist views rather than by evidence
  pertaining to the crime they were accused of.
