5Points of Pride 2004-2005 The Career Center (TCC)
served 13,012 students this academic year, a 358
increase over last year. TCC staff conducted
2,640 individual advising/counseling appointments
with students and alumni and presented 406
professional seminars, classroom presentations,
and special programs. The ECU Career Center is
the benchmark for our peer institutions. Marshall
University conducted a survey this spring for
career centers and on-campus recruiting. ECU had
more recruiters visit campus and attend career
fairs than any of the other 17 respondents.
6851 recruiters from 426 organizations and
approximately 4,000 students participated in
on-campus career fairs. 158 companies scheduled
approximately 2,640 on-campus interviews. 94
of recruiters participating in our on-campus
career fairs stated their recruiting experience
at ECU was equal to or better than other
universities. 3,067 undergraduate and 593
graduate students uploaded their resume at The
Career Center using the eRecruiting system.
712,364 positions and 635 new employers were added
to the eRecruiting database. 48,070 visitors
from 32 countries viewed the TCC homepage. The
site has been viewed in 37 different languages
and in 22 of the 24 time zones. 8,934 students
enrolled in 1,182 experiential education courses
generated 26,367 credit hours, which equates to
4,532,578.84 in tuition and fees. These courses
include clinicals, practica, independent studies,
and internships.
