2Site investigation
- Initial site investigation site found, talking
to land owners and neighbours, gaining Town
Planning Permit. - Wind mast installed
The wind mast is used to collect data on maximum,
minimum and average wind speeds every data. This
is the data produced for January 9 -30 in 2001.

3Construction phase
- Roads built A local contractors was employed to
build the roads. The building phase can employ up
to 90 people.
4Construction phase
- First foundation completed

5Construction
The towers and foundations were made at Keppel

6Construction
TOP LEFT Nacelles (67 tonnes each) and blades (5
tonnes each) arrive from Denmark. RIGHT Nacelle
lifted onto tower. BOTTOM RIGHT Hub placed onto
rotor. BOTTOM LEFT Rotor ready to be lifted onto
tower

8Running the wind farm
- Maintaining the wind farm requires 2 full time
employees maintaining the turbines an
electrical engineer and a fitter and turner.
Generally there are 2 people per 30 turbines.
