structure of the program
- Your school (principal, co-administrators,
athletic directors, coaches, trainers, etc.) - Your schools league (other member schools,
league commissioner) - Central Coast Section (your leagues
representatives, CCS Commissioner and staff) - California Interscholastic Federation (Section
representatives, CIF Executive Director)

- Supervision and evaluation of your staff in
meeting the responsibilities outlined in your
coach and athletic director job descriptions - Supervision of athletic events
- Supervision of the athletic budget
- Supervision of adherence to the rules including
reporting violations
9TAKE RESPONSIBILITYFor development of the program
- Publishing and maintaining a Coaches Handbook
- Managing growth of the program in participation
and offerings - Coaching education (CIF offers an outstanding
Coaching Education program) - Addressing gender equity

- Providing proper equipment, particularly safety
equipment - Providing or arranging transportation
- Finding, selecting, hiring and training coaching

guide your athletic program

- the principal is responsible for the initial
determination of a students athletic
eligibility? - use of an ineligible player in a contest results
in forfeiture of that contest and possibly other - sanctions on your schools athletic programs?
- All foreign transfer students are ineligible for
athletic competition unless they have been
granted a waiver? - CCS post-season play is a privilege and that
there are numerous requirements to qualify to
participate?
16DID YOU KNOW THAT
- all transfer students athletic eligibility
requires paperwork? All transfer students require
a successful application for a waiver of
ineligibility. - State Championships are offered in the sports of
Girls Volleyball, Cross Country, Basketball,
Wrestling, and Track and Field? - on average, student athletes perform better
academically than their peers who are not
involved in extra-curricular activities, use
drugs less and drink less?
