Do you want to help IKEAs Sleeping Storing
department identify new and innovative materials?
IKEA of Sweden has a challenging thesis project
for an energetic, analytical and driven
engineering/business student!
What will you be doing? You will responsible for
identifying new materials, such as alternative
fillings in matrassess or for bedslats. Therefore
you will need to understand the production
process, research the raw material market of the
alternative filling or material and come up with
a plan on how these new materials can be used by
the IKEA Sleeping Storing department. This
project will give you wide exposure to IKEA you
will be working with product developers,
purchasers, trading offices and technicians.
There is a lot of work that needs to be done
within in a short-time frame therefore you need
to be a quick learner who is adaptable and has
the maturity to work in a changing and dynamic
environment. You will be working primarly with
the team in Älmhult, so travel to our offices
will be required.
What are we looking for? We are looking for one
or two students who are completing their thesis
between September and January, for 15-20 weeks.
You are at a high level in English both spoken
and written you are analytical and work well
independently. Your focus of study is
mechanical engineering, industrial design or
an engineering program that has included
material sciences.
