About the Author

• Mr. Svendor's educational background includes an
  MBA and BS in Business and Economics from Eastern
  Michigan University. In addition, he has also
  received a graduate certificate in the Leadership
  Development Program in Occupational
  Administration from the University of Michigan.
• His work experience includes twenty-eight years
  of teaching in the Business Division at West
  Shore Community College. For the last twenty of
  those years he served as the Business Division
  Chairperson. In the fall of 1998 he was
  appointed Dean of Workforce and Economic
  Development. In the spring of 2004 he was
  promoted to Vice President of Academic Services.
  Prior to West Shore, he taught for two years at
  Ferris State University, and before that he
  worked as a Production Control Manager at
  Shatterproof Glass Corporation in Detroit,
  Michigan.
• Since 1984 Mr. Svendor has been very active in
  teaching Statistical Process Control (SPC) and
  Total Quality concepts to businesses. In 1988 he
  began implementing these concepts to student
  assessment in his own classes as well as other
  occupational programs at West Shore Community
  College.
