Direct Objects

• A direct object is what receives the action of a
  verb
• It helps to ask What? or Whom? with regard to the
  verb to determine the direct object in a phrase
  or sentence
• Ejemplo John has the book
• What does John have?
• The direct object is the book

• A pronoun replaces a noun (person, place, thing,
  or idea)
• The direct object pronoun replaces the direct
  object
• John has the book
• John has it
