  • This Power Point presentation will give you basic
    instructions on how to operate a digital camera
    and also provide you with screen dump directions
    on how to burn a CD
  • If you have any questions on these processes,
    check with Mrs. Stump, Library and Information
    Specialist or Mr. Selvage, Building Technology
    Coordinator

Digital Camera Basics
  • It takes 2 ½ hours to charge the battery
  • One floppy disk can hold between 25-40 photos,
    depending on the type/style you use
  • Generally, the photos will be reproduced on your
    computer as .jpeg files you will want to rename
    these files on the floppy disk to something
    meaningful to you as the camera simply assigns
    them a number

Operating Instructions
  • Hold the camera and power it on by sliding the
    button that says power
  • Make sure the lens cap is OFF!
  • Slide in the floppy disk with the floppy ring
    facing away from you
  • You will see on the camera what the picture will
    look like may adjustments by using the buttons

Camera Buttons
  • Bright feature looks like a plus/minus sign
  • Flash is automatic unless you push the button for
    it and the lightning like sign on the screen
    means you have a forced flash the next push of
    the button will display lightning with a circle
    that means no flash and push the button once
    again for a blank display and youll have
    automatic flash

More Buttons
  • Program shows a type of background
  • EV stands for exposure value (light/dark)
  • Display is normally set at standard and can tell
    you the number of pictures you are taking and the
    minutes left on the battery push again to get
    the display features to go away and show you just
    what the camera shot will actually look like

A few tips
  • Keeping the button on CAMERA mode as opposed to
    PLAY mode will allow you to take pictures, by
    pressing the little silver button on top
  • PLAY mode allows you to see what youve taken
    use the round dial with 4 arrows to follow your
    menu and either change EV values, or go
    forward/back in viewing your shots, etc. Pushing
    in the button executes the command

When youre finished
  • Eject the disk
  • Power off the camera and place the lens cap back
    on!
