General Information on Splicer Cleaning Kit

• The Splicer Cleaning Kit was originally created
  and designed by Ron Purtee in 1996.
• Splicer Cleaning Kits purpose is to act as a
  convenience kit to clean a movie splicer.

What Does This Mean?

• A splicer is used to connect two ends of film
  with a strong adhesive.
• The splicer includes a cutter blade and a
  compression stamp.
• The compression stamp is used to compress the
  adhesive tape and connect rolls of film.

What does the Kit do?

• With so much use, the splicer builds up a layer
  of adhesive tape on the cutter blade and
  underside of the compression stamp.
• The kit is designed to include all of the
  necessary parts to remove the adhesive buildup on
  the splicer.

• The majority of Cinema Products Internationals
  supplies are readily available through local
  retailers and are gathered through reverse milk
  runs but some are shipped directly by air and
  truck from the suppliers.
• A reverse milk run is where a company will send
  its trucks out to pick up supplies from local
  suppliers rather than having supplies sent to
  them.

• This supply chain operates under a push
  management style and maintains high levels of
  inventory in both the form of raw materials as
  well as completed products awaiting sale.
• The supplies that require shipping such as the
  chemicals last 2 to 3 years, but can be
  replenished in approximately 2 weeks.

• The cinema industry is relatively low on the
  technology scale.
• The majority of information management is done
  manually or through purchase orders.
• These purchase orders are often managed by
  outside companies which help small businesses run
  more efficiently.
• UPS WorldShip is used to manage outgoing shipment
  tracking as well as the physical product movement
  by acting as a third party logistics manager.
• This makes the expense of maintaining a storage
  and distribution center not a necessary expense
  for CPI.
