Horizontal Drivers and Output

• Input to one or more driver stages is the sweep
  generator.
• These stages drive the Horizontal Outout
  Transistor.
• Output of power transistor Deflection yoke
• HOT
  (flyback transformer)
• Related to this action are Scan derived
  voltages, boosted B, energizing of convergence
  and anti-pincushion circuits, threshold
  monitoring for auto shutdown and gating pulses to
  key tuner functions.

• Input to driver amplifiers trapezoid waveshape.
• Driver transistors are transformer coupled (101)
  to output transistor for low Z match.
• Output stage is class B (class C!)
• Important component for horizontal action is the
  DAMPER diode.
• First half of trace is supplied by self induced
  voltage of collapsing yoke flux while transistor
  is turned off. (during retrace)
• Second half is supplied by output transistor.

• What is the importance of the safety capacitor?
• The enclosed package is called IHVT (itegrated
  high voltage capacitor).
• Provides transformer action
• HV (high voltage tripler action)
• focus voltage
