from which they would like to receive
alerts. - Users then select the type of alerts
they would like to receive. - Once registered,

6Step 2 Alert Creation - Any law enforcement
agency may join the CrimeWeb Network. Upon
completion of the registration process, law
enforcement agencies are given a password
which allows them to create and send alerts using
the CrimeWeb Network. - These alerts are
distributed by zip codes to registered citizen
users. - Law enforcement may issue alerts to
specific zip codes, a radius of up to 99 miles
around a zip code or to all users located between
two specified zip codes (anywhere in the
United States).
7Step 2 Alert Creation (cont.) - Upon creation of
an alert, the CrimeWeb Network issues an alert
notification to all registered citizens which
match the target zip codes entered by the law
enforcement agency when creating the alert. - The
alert notification is sent to citizens who then
click on the enclosed link and view the alert.
- The alert notification can also be customized
with the issuing law enforcement agencies
badge or logo.
