Carbohydrates
  • There are good and bad carbohydrates.
  • Whole grain is one of the best carbohydrates.
  • Carbohydrates provide the body with fuel they
    need for physical activity.
  • There are two major types of carbohydrates,
    major, and complex.

Fats (not your BFF)
  • Did you know that McDonalds fries have twice the
    amount of fat as freshly made fries.
  • Fats Are important, they are the most
    concentrated form of food energy.
  • There are 4 different types of fats -
    polyunsaturated, monounsaturated, saturated and
    trans.
  • Fats Arent always bad for you, fats a a very
    necessary.

Protein
  • Protein Is everywhere in your body, It is in
    your muscle ,bone, skin and almost every other
    body part.
  • Your body should be maximum 35 protein, any
    more than that would be over doing it.
  • You can develop osteoporosis a disease that
    thins and weakens bones.

Fibre
  • Lots of fibre that people consume comes from
    breakfast or cereal. Thats why its important to
    have a good breakfast every day.
  • Fibre is something that keeps your body alert
    and your brain running.
  • People should try and have 20 grams of fibre a
    day.
  • Fibre cant actually be digested.

Vitamins
  • You can find a vitamin for pretty much anything.
    They can be used as a supplement for something
    such as protein.
  • Vitamins can be a good way of getting an extra
    dose of something such as vitamin D but it is
    always better to consume things like that the
    natural way.
  • You can get vitamin A from things like Carrots,
    most vitamin B comes from grains like bread.
    Vitamin C comes from fruits such as grape fruits,
  • Vitamin D comes from things like being out in
    the sun! Vitamin E comes from things like
    Avocados. Vitamin K comes from things like
    brocolli.

Minerals
  • Minerals are nutrients that your body needs.
  • Your body should consume them in small amounts
    so they work properly.
  • Minerals are found in various food items.
  • Such as
  • Fish, Milk, Dairy foods, vegitables.

  • You can find your consumption of calories for the
    food you eat most of the time on the nutrition
    facts.
  • There is a lot of foods you can get that are low
    in calories.
  • Your body needs calories so that it has energy.

  • Each person has a certain amount of calories
    that they should eat per day.
  • When someone reaches 400 calories a day they are
    in danger because they could be nearing a disease
    called anorexia. That is when someone is to
    skinny.
