Customize Outlook
  • Set features to alert to known senders
  • You can white-list complete domains using Safe
    Senders.
  • Set expected messages from senders to red/blue
    etc.

Safe Senders
  • Add an Address or Domain to Safe Senders in
    Outlook
  • Select Actions Junk E-mail Junk E-mail
    Options... from the menu in Outlook.
  • Go to the Safe Senders tab. Click Add.
  • Type the email address or domain name you want to
    whitelist.
  • To add a single address, type joe.bloggs_at_nyssbdc.
    org", for example.
  • To add a complete domain, type nyssbdc.org", for
    example.
  • Click OK. Click OK again.

    to the Safe Senders list (or the Junk E-mail
    folder)
  • Open a message from sender to add
  • Select actions
  • Junk email

  • Develop a file structure to save documents that
    are not time sensitive and will be re-used
    local demographics, traffic patterns etc
  • Also for saving PDF files into a pre-defined
    industry folder (be wary of keeping dated
    information, though).

  • Several files appear in one complete document
  • Use bookmark icon to view the separate files (in
    left margin 2nd from top)
  • If choosing to save file, must save the whole
    thing

Nature of Packaged PDFs
  • Files appear individually when file is opened (no
    need to click bookmark icon)
  • You can view evaluate each separately, printing
    (or recommending to client) only those that are
    necessary
  • Viewable only with version 8.0 use of version
    7.0 has trouble with this feature

Scanning for OCR Capacity
  • Optical Character Recognition
  • Occurs when original print docs are scanned, or
    when electronic docs are converted by Adobe
    Standard
  • Scans a file by individual character, rather than
    imaging the whole page
  • Allows you to do keyword search

Adobe Wrap-Up
  • No need to print out PDFs on your end!
  • Link to PDF in email from RN can be forwarded to
    client
  • PDFs remain on network for 6 months
  • This info will be summarized onto a PDF, and a
    link will be added in future RN email (helps out
    client)
