Ptolemy (85-165) Egyptian-born Greek astronomer
- synthesized Hipparchus' observations with his
own and extended to Apollonius' model of the
universe by introducing more epicycles

the standard model until the 1600s

    Earth move and Ptolemy's model had a static Earth
