Teija Rom-Colthoff Trains Aspiring Baton Twirlers

Teija Rom-Colthoff is a resident of Aurora,
Ontario and works as a baton twirling coach at
the Spectrum North Baton Club, where she coaches
children and teenagers between the ages of four
to fifteen. Being a passionate baton twirler
herself, she enjoys her job and does her best to
make sure the students are able to learn the
basic baton and dance skills. She shows them many
impressive moves like behind the back, hand-off,
hand-to-hand, and more to ensure they come up
with a nice twirling performance. As gaining
competency in this competitive sport calls for a
great deal of practice and hard work, Teija keeps
motivating her students. They too hold great
respect for her and say that they have never seen
someone twirl a baton as beautifully as her.

Teija Rom-Colthoff is an accomplished baton
twirler and has won a number of championships
organized in Canada. She has even participated at
numerous competitions at the international level
and managed to come in the top twenty
participants in most of them. Teija is an
extremely ambitious girl and started her
professional journey at a very young age. In the
past, she has worked as Specialty Supervisor in
Camp Green Acres, located in Markham, ON. Here,
she organized and executed specialized classes
for campers between the age group of six to
thirteen. In addition to this, she was
responsible for taking care of the supplies and
managing the paper work. In addition she has
worked in sales and hospitality positions while
pursuing her education.

Despite having started with her professional
journey at an early age, Teija Rom-Colthoff has
not bid adieu to her education. She firmly
believes in the power of education and is intent
on pursuing a post secondary education. She has
also done a courses in Standard First Aid,
bronze cross in swimming and holds a Smart
Serve certificate. When not working or studying,
Teija likes to indulge in her favorite hobbies
baton twirling, skating, running, dancing,
skiing, and composing videos.
