Title: Daniel Assouline is an Honest and Sincere Leader

1
  • Daniel Assouline is an Honest and Sincere Leader

2
  • Whether leaders are born or develop leadership
skills along the way has been a subject of
intense debate since long. True leaders, however,
do not waste their time and energy on such
arguments and instead utilize the resources at
their command to further hone their leadership
    qualities.
  • Daniel Assouline, the former CEO of Montreal,
    Canada based e-commerce solution provider
UpClick.com, is a leader who has all the
leadership qualities that make it easier for
people to follow him by their own free will.

3
  • A truly inspirational personality, Daniel is
    honest, hard working, intelligent, compassionate,
    and trustworthy leader.
  • In the following section, we shall look at some
of the very important qualities that make a
natural born leader. This is important as having
people follow a leader is certainly much better
than a leader devising ways and means of having
    the people follow him.

4
A Leader has to be Honest
  • People will only wish to follow you, if they
believe that you are honest and have their best
interests in mind. Earlier, it was understood
that a leader by virtue of his position will be
    honest.
  • A host of financial scandals that rocked the
corporate world dispelled that notion faster than
mist in a rising sun. People started looking at
corporate and CEOs with heightened suspicion.

5
  • This has given rise to a new and somewhat
peculiar situation. Earlier, it was assumed that
a leader is honest, but now it is the other way
round. You are presumed dishonest unless you
prove otherwise. People will not take you to be
an epitome of virtue just because you have never
been caught with your hands in the cookie jar.
  • Modern organizations function in an increasingly
complex business environment. Leaders as such are
under added pressure to deliver. Leaders are
human beings too and as such are not infallible.
Mistakes are bound to happen and an honest leader
will never shy away from taking responsibilities
    for his action.

6
  • Daniel Assouline is a proactive leader who always
walks the talk and takes full responsibilities
for his ideas and actions. He is always on the
lookout for new and innovative ways of doing
    things.
  • There is no doubt that certain ideas under
certain circumstances and conditions will not be
as successful as were initially intended. This is
where the real test of honesty comes up.
  • Some leaders do not admit that the idea that
failed to generate the desired result was their
own, while others, for the fear of failure, just
sit back and let things happen rather than make
    things happen.

7
Quality Leaders Think Ahead of Time
  • A chance of a modern organization succeeding in
the marketplace when being lead by a leader who
is not forward thinking is almost negligible.
Successful leaders know their present but never
fail to take the future into consideration.
  • Leadership in modern business context is all
about knowing where you are now and where you
wish to be. Leaders must possess the ability to
know where to go from where they are now.

8
  • You must have sound communication skills to
actively communicate your plans for the present
as well as future to your employees. What you
intend to do will matter little, if you fail to
enlist active help and cooperation of all those
    around you.
  • Under most circumstances, people are not much
    enthusiastic about giving their wholehearted
support for the cause if they think that their
leader lacks vision or is too afraid to share his
    vision with them.
  • It is often seen that leaders who lack vision are
the ones who do not have enough time on their
hand. They are so busy with the present that they
really do not have time to think about tomorrow.

9
  • The fact then can be simply deduced that leaders,
who do not have time to think and plan for the
future, are doing a very poor job of leading in
    the present.
  • Failure to build a team that can work on its own
with minimum of input from the top can be the
chief cause of the leader always running short of
time. Employees, who lack the belief and
confidence to do anything on their own, will
always be looking towards their leader for advice
    and problem solving.
  • Daniel Assouline, the former chairman and
co-founder of UpClick, is a leader with strong
vision for the future and a strong plan for going
forward. He is a leader who possesses strong
    communication skills to effectively and
efficiently communicate his vision and plan for
    the future to his employees.

10
Good Leaders Must Lead by Example
  • Leaders, who do not lead by example, do not
inspire confidence in their abilities. They fail
to motivate their employees to give their best
    for the organization.
  • Daniel Assouline is a leader whose action and an
    impeccable record inspires tremendous confidence
in his abilities. His subordinates know that what
he preaches is not in any way different from what
    he practices.
