Ideas for films 1

• My original and main idea that I have had for
  this short film has been a piece that was for me
  was inspired by Birdman or (The Unexpected
  Virtue of Ignorance) by Alejandro González
  Iñárritu, Nightcrawler by Dan Gilroy and
  Whiplash by Damien Chazelle. As well as aspects
  from the titular character of the TV show
  Sherlock by Benedict Cumberbatch being taken
  for the main character of this film.
• The idea was based around a character called
  Thomas Finn Finnegan, who I made up. He is
  driven by ambition to make a good short film for
  both his media class and entry into the college
  national film competition, something he has
  dreamed of all his life.
• This films events take place in 2015 when Thomas
  has partnered up with his friend Rachel to make
  this short film and are holding auditions for
  parts in their film. Thomas is fixated on making
  this short film and has complete and utter
  disregard of the people around him, and his
  narrow vision starts to get the better of him.
• I have been told to make sure this film is
  between 5-10 minutes long, however I cannot see
  myself being able to make this a maximum of 10
  minutes. Being unsure, I will make the film and
  then begin to follow the screenplay and see what
  I can cut, what I will leave in, if what I do cut
  makes the scene flow better or worse etc.
• Having taken inspiration from the character of
  Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbatch, my character
  I believe with the direction I plan to take him
  throughout the film is that of someone with
  Asperger's, a diagnosis that I myself have. But
  whilst I dont want to make this a biographical
  film, I want to tell the story of a somewhat
  flawed individual, a lot like Cumberbatchs
  Sherlock. Ultimately I want to tell the story of
  one autistic individual who whilst he never
  revelled in his diagnosis and never thought
  himself special, is completely oblivious to
  people around him, is fixated on his goals and
  needs his very few friends to remind him how to
  work in a social environment.

Ideas for films 2

• My secondary idea was to take the format of
  YouTube videos that have become extremely
  popular, Lets Play channels. In the form of
  many people such as PewDiePie, Markiplier and
  JackSepticEye, these channels have thrived with
  one individual playing the game whilst filming
  themselves with a face-cam in the corner.
• This idea I had was for there to be a guy who was
  starting out a Lets Play channel playing a game
  that has been considered taboo on a
  livestream with only a few people watching,
  really only consisting of friends messing around
  with him in the chat.
• The game in mind would be called Red Finding
  (Which also the title of the film), and it would
  be a very highly rated horror game which has been
  banned in loads of countries, and its premise is
  that you need to find people scattered around the
  map and kill them in the most gory and bloody
  ways.
• Its twist comes in the form of finishing level
  one, when the main guy Milo or MiloPlays42 has
  reached the final person he needs to kill on that
  level and enters a room with one guy sat down on
  a computer. So Milo makes in the game character
  step forward and selects to kill the guy and you
  see a figure in Milos face cam place his hands
  around his throat and stab him.
• We then cut to the figure smearing Milos blood
  over the camera and turning it off, as well as
  the game stream ending, and the chat starts going
  crazy with his friends saying things from What
  the f to Okay Milo stop playing around.
• So this is a horror film that attempts to be
  grounded in reality, in a somewhat found footage
  manner.

Ideas for films 3

• My third and final idea was to make a Machinima,
  which is a practice or technique of producing
  animated films through the manipulation of video
  game graphics. My main inspiration was after
  watching Trigger List, a GTA5 Machinima.
• The video game I would use for this would be
  Grand Theft Auto V on the PlayStation 4, and the
  idea for the film would be a prison break. The
  main character was caught street racing illegally
  and has been thrown in jail, and is being
  transferred to maximum security prison before the
  bus he is travelling in starts getting fired at
  by a black armoured four door car, killing the
  driver and being picked up by a helicopter with a
  hook.
• Flying off, losing the police and landing, the
  main character learns he has been rescued by a
  group of international criminals who are looking
  for a driver to race in the San Andreas street
  racing championship, an organised set of events
  taking place around Los Santos and Blaine County,
  banding together all the racing community to
  compete against each other.
• The main character Claude Speed has garnered
  a rightful reputation for being perhaps the best
  street racer there is, which also was what threw
  him in jail. But learns that the people who
  rescued him would be hoping to use the money
  involved to fund a big money heist, and Claude
  decides to work with them since they broke him
  out. What follows are some money jobs in order to
  obtain cars for events and subsequent money jobs
  that will lead him to becoming a notorious
  criminal.
