Why are app ratings even necessary?

• In the App Store, app ratings are taken into
  account for search results, and top rankings.
  Apps with lot of ratings, and are rated
  positively are less subject to fluctuate in the
  app ranking charts and therefore more likely to
  hold their positions longer.In search results,
  positive app ratings help an app appear higher in
  the results.when I see an app with a 3.5 star
  rating or below Im hesitant to even install it,
  fearing a poor experience. Id assume Im not
  alone there.

3 Tips to Get Better App Ratings Reviews

• 1.Product Market Fit - This is often the most
  difficult goal to achieve. Gather feedback from
  those who have downloaded the app. Engagement is
  a good indicator of product-market fit.
• 2. Avoid Publishing a Buggy App - Check or test
  your app before publishing. Any app is at risk of
  having bugs, but careful testing will improve
  your chances of finding bugs and crushing them.
  Test on multiple devices. Having bug report tools
  for your app helps.

3. Provide Private Channels to your
Customer for Feedback - Creating a private
channel for complaints will allow your customers
to vent frustrations while also preventing a
minor inconvience from haunting your public
ratings. Customers would rather have their app
issues solved directly. However, Apple and
Android makes this challenging. Their personal
email and information is not easily accessible
and privacy guidelines makes it more difficult to
contact users about their negative feedback and
reviews.
