As an example to his love of community, Douglas
has become a member of several valuable community
services. When he is not helping businesses wade
through legal paperwork and ethical
considerations, he is helping families resolve
disputes and communicate with their Homeowner's
Association. He enjoys an evening at home with a
home-cooked meal and a good book (or ESPN if it's
football season), or an evening out at one of
Hilton Head's many seafood restaurants.
He is also a past commissioner of the Beaufort
County Parks and Leisure Services, where he
focuses on keeping his community a vibrant,
healthy, and environmentally responsible place
for its residents.

Douglas MacNeille is not only an attorney, he's
also a sports buff. He is a history fan, and
loves to read about the Civil War and World War
II, whether fiction or non-fiction. He strives to
make his piece of the world better for residents,
businesses, and the environment. He is also a
founding member of the Hilton Head Baseball
Association for the Dixie Youth Baseball League.
If he is not watching a Cubs, Bears or Bulls
game, Douglas is most likely participating in one
of his favorite outdoor sports. Douglas is an
avid fan of the Cubs, Bears, Bulls, and
Blackhawks. He is a member of the South Beach
Racquet Club in Hilton Head, and frequently plays
golf and tennis.

Douglas received his bachelor's degree from the
University of Virginia in 1973. specializes in
civil litigation, Homeowners Association, Family
Law, Estate Planning, and Corporate Law. He lives
in Hilton Head, South Carolina, where he has been
practicing law since 1984. His practice, Ruth
MacNeille, P.A. Douglas MacNeille has a vibrant
and active past in the law field, and is licensed
to practice in the South Carolina Supreme Court
in addition to the U.S District Court, 4th
Circuit Court of Appeals, and various local
courts. His high moral standing and family
values are what sparked his interest in pursuing
matters of justice when it comes to civil and
family matters. Additionally, he is a member of a
local Racquet club, and is a past commissioner of
Beaufort County Parks and Leisure Services.
Douglas is also an enthusiastic sports and
recreation fan, and is happy to be involved in
community sports.

Douglas follows animal rights news and
advancements in environmental sustainability
closely, and hopes to participate in improving
natural and animal life some day. The shelter in
Georgetown said that the additional influx of
animals caused by unregulated breeding costs them
considerably
This creates a financial burden on not only the
shelter, but also the community as well. In
Louisiana, violators of the law face prison time,
and in Rhode Island, violators are heavily fined
for any pet that is not neutered or spayed.
Thirty-four states throughout the country have
enforced spay and neuter laws which punish
violators who ignore them.
