A Call to Act
3rd CALL
How can you take good care of your environment.
Put a check mark inside the circle before the
item.

Time to Review
Reference Card
Read the short lecture below to learn more ways
in taking care of the planet Earth.
Our whole environment is made up of all
living and non-living things which an organism
interacts. All living things are interdependent
and we depend to our environment in order to
survive. Thus, destroying the environment is
destroying the only planet where we live.
The activities of men which destroy the
environment are illegal and indiscriminate
logging, kaingin system, illegal fishing using
dynamite, cyanide and muro-ami technique, oil
spills, pollution of the air and bodies of water
brought about by garbage, smoke from vehicles,
factories and power plants, mining and the use of
CFCs. Chloroflourocarbon depletes the ozone layer.
To address these problems, the following
activities are recommended responsible waste
disposal like segregating biodegradable from
non-biodegradable materials, recycling, reusing
and reducing wastes, energy conservation,
clean-up drives and using renewable energy
resources like solar panels and wind mills to
lessen the consumption of fossil fuels, using LED
instead of incandescent bulbs and fixing leaking
water sources.
