Title: audience research
1Audience Research
I created a survey consisting of 10 questions to
determine the attitudes and ideas of my potential
audience towards documentaries and the topic of
immigration.
2Survey Responses Background Information
This question has identified that 90 of people
that took this survey are female. This means that
my target audience may potentially be females
over males.
350 of the people that took this survey are aged
17 or younger. Again this points towards my
potential target audience.
4100 of people that took this survey considered
themselves to be British. This is very important
because it confirms that my documentary will be
geared towards the correct target audience as the
purpose of the documentary is to give insight on
the lives of immigrants in the Britain.
5Survey Responses Interest in documentaries
70 of people surveyed said that they watch
documentaries frequently or once or twice a week.
This question gives scope on the potential
interest in a new documentary of my audience.
6Survey Responses Interest in documentaries
Both of these questions outline how my potential
audience would like the documentary to look and
feel. 80 said they believe that interviews are
important to include and 70 said theyd prefer a
narrator over a presenter. I will take both of
these results into account and incorporate them
into my documentary.
7Survey Responses Interest in documentaries
This final documentary question gives me an
insight into which documentaries are popular or
which types are popular with my target audience
at the moment.
8Survey Responses The topic of immigration
As my documentary is on the topic of immigration
these questions served to find out what my
potential audience thought of the topic. 100
said that they would find a documentary on the
topic of immigration interesting.
