ENVIRONMENT
3relating to the natural world and the impact of
human activity on its condition.
4Environmental pollutions are 7 types-
1)Air pollution
2)Water pollution
3)Noise pollution
4)Thermal pollution
5)Visual pollution
6)Land pollution
7)Light pollution
5Air pollution
the presence in or introduction into the air of a
substance which has harmful or poisonous effects.
6Water pollution
Water pollution is the contamination of water
bodies (e.g. lakes, rivers, oceans, aquifers and
groundwater). This form of environmental
degradation occurs when pollutants are directly
or indirectly discharged into water bodies
without adequate treatment to remove harmful
compounds.
7Noise pollution
harmful or annoying levels of noise.
8Thermal pollution
Thermal pollution is the degradation of water
quality by any process that changes ambient water
temperature. A common cause of thermal
pollution is the use of water as a coolant by
power plants and industrial manufacturers.
9Visual pollution
Visual pollution is an aesthetic issue and refers
to the impacts of pollution that impair one's
ability to enjoy a vista or view
10Land pollution
Land pollution is the deterioration (destruction)
of the earth's land surfaces, often directly or
indirectly as a result of man's activities and
their misuse of land resources.
11Light pollution
brightening of the night sky caused by street
lights and other man-made sources, which has a
disruptive effect on natural cycles and inhibits
the observation of stars and planets. "for many
astronomers light pollution has been a disaster"
