• The importance of electrical safety
• Here is some advice on how to improve the overall
  electrical safety in your property. Please note
  that you should follow the advice with extreme
  care and on the first sign of trouble call a
  professional electrician.
• Watch out for underground power lines
• Watch out for water leaks
• What to do in case of an electric shock?
• Try to shut off the power at the main switch
  before doing anything if you are close to someone
  who is having an electric shock. If it cannot be
  done, use an object that does not conduct
  electricity to push the person away from the
  electrical source. Try to stand on something dry
  that is not a conductor of electricity.

• ? Take care of your appliance cords
• Keep your electrical appliances, their cords and
  all extension away from source of water. Make
  sure that all your cords are in good condition
  if they are damaged or showing signs of age, do
  not use the appliance until it is been inspected
  and repaired by a licensed electrician.
• ? Avoid having piggy-back or double adaptor
  connections!
• Having many cords connected to an outlet that is
  designed to have only one or two can cause
  dangerous overloading. Instead of this, use power
  boards that come equipped with a safety device
  that helps avoid a dangerous power outlet
  overload.
• ? Make sure all your outlets are childproof
• You should get used to using childproof plugs in
  your electrical outlets to prevent children of
  pushing and sticking small items inside of them.
• ? All your electrical wiring needs to be done by
  a professional electrician no matter how small
  the repair to your electrical installation,
  always call a professional.
• ? Install safety switches in your property.
• ? Test your safety switches regularly
• ? Watch out for overhead lines
