  sentimental value to those who wear them. Our
  customers can say that their pieces were designed
  just for them, and can be assured that no one
  else in the world has a piece with the same story.

• So at Plante Jewelers, when we redesign jewelry
  for customers, remake jewelry, or craft custom
  jewelry - we arent just making jewelry. Were
  making meaning.

The stories behind the designs

• One of our customers came into our store with a
  ring passed down from her mother and a pair of
  diamond earrings from her mother-in-law.
  Unfortunately, the ring was not her style, and
  she already had a pair of diamond earrings she
  liked better than the set from her mother-in-law.
  Clearly, these objects were imbued with great
  sentimental value, and yet this customer could
  not wear them.

• We incorporated the diamonds from the ring and
  from the earrings into a single redesigned
  diamond ring. The new ring is baroque in
  appearance, with swirls of white and yellow gold
  expanding from the central cluster of diamonds.
  The customer was quite pleased with the
  artfulness of the finished piece, and with the
  way it retained its old sentimental value despite
  its newness. We were all wearing these diamonds
  in different pieces at different times, she said.

• Another customer had stopped wearing her
  engagement ring ever since her husband passed.
  She wanted the piece redesigned so she could wear
  it again. For her, we transformed her classic
  yellow gold diamond solitaire ring into a
  thoroughly modern piece.

• It consists of multiple bands of small diamonds,
  radiating outward from the customers original
  engagement diamond in the center. The customer
  was thrilled. Its so much more a part of me,
  she explained. Going on five or six years I
  hadnt worn a ring, so to be able to wear it
  again in a beautiful setting was a pleasure. And
  I have such wonderful memories of the diamond
  inside.

• Besides in-depth knowledge of jewelry, one of
  the most essential qualities people want in their
  jeweler is the willingness to truly listen. We
  provide ideas, but at every step we make the
  customer part of the process, so that the design
  theyre getting is what they truly want. We can
  go through anywhere from three to potentially ten
  different ideas for designs with customers before
  they hit on something they love. Eventually, we
  create a photograph-like CAD rendering of the
  final design, and when the customer approves, we
  craft the ring.

• A piece of custom jewelry, rings especially, can
  be the most personal thing you wear. Sure, many
  of us have a signature outfit or type of makeup
  that defines our style, but we may not wear it
  every day. Unique pieces by jewelry designers,

  time - an unchanging expression of our memories,
  our relationships, and our personalities.
