Title: Hidden side effects of lemon

1
Hidden Side Effects of
Lemon
2
Tooth Enamel
  • Consuming too many glasses of lemon water in a
day causes extensive contact of acid with your
teeth. This will erode tooth enamel and make your
teeth sensitive, especially to hot or cold foods.
To protect your teeth, drink lemon juice and any
    acidic beverages through a straw.

3
Heartburn
  • Drinking too much lemon with water may trigger
heartburn. Heartburn causes severe burning and
pain in your chest and occurs when the esophageal
sphincter, between your esophagus and stomach
    doesnt function properly.

4
Urination and Dehydration
  • Taking large amount of lemon with water may
cause you to feel dehydrated. To avoid this,
reduce the amount of lemon juice that you add to
your drink. The vitamin C in lemon have a
    diuretic effect.

5
Gallbladder and Kidney Problems
  • Lemon juice is high in citric acid, oxalates and
vitamin C. When these oxalates are too
concentrated in the body fluids, causing many
health problems. For this reason, people who have
gallbladder and kidney problems should avoid the
    lemon juice.

6
Stomach Upset
  • Drinking too much lemon water may upset your
stomach because it retains its high acidity level
until further digested. The acidity is helpful
for digesting food, but too much may temporarily
irritate mucous membranes and lead to stomach
pain and acid reflux or heartburn.

7
GERD and Ulcers
  • GERD is also known as gastroesphageal reflux
disorder, symptoms of which are heartburn, nausea
and vomiting. GERD is caused by acidic, fatty and
    spicy food.
