Steps to rebuild the company file in QuickBooks

• Firstly close all the open windows in QuickBooks.
• Click on file menu option.
• Click on utilities option.
• Click on click rebuild data option.
• In case there is any warning message on computer
  screen then click on OK option.
• Do not replace your current backup. But instead
  of that use a newly formatted external media
  source for this backup.
• Click on no option if you see a message saying
  that you want to replace the backup file.
• Click on OK option from the bottom of QuickBooks
  backup window.
• In case the backup process fails, then click on
  cancel option from the rebuild prompt.
• At this time, you should make a copy of the
  company file and attempt the rebuild process
  again using the copy of the company file.

• The rebuild data utility will begin as soon as
  the backup process is complete.
• Click on OK option to rebuild data.
• Close your company file, and then reopen with a
  refresh list of files.
• Click on file menu option.
• Click on open company option.
• Select the company you want to open, and then
  click on open option.
• Review your reports. If you notice any errors in
  your reports then you may call QuickBooks
