engineering will prefer to study in a top
engineering college. When it comes top

Technology, known famously as IITs will beat
its competitors hands down. IITs are the top
technical institute in India, which is funded and
controlled by the central government of India.

competition among students to join in these
prestigious institutes. There is a separate
entrance exam for joining here, which is known as

Institute of Technology know as NIT. It is also
controlled by the central government of India.
There are 31 NITs located in different states
of India. Similar to IITs, there are also
separate entrance exams for NIT admission. State
controlled Universities IIT and NIT are the only
options to study engineering central government
institute. Others can prefer to study in
universities controlled by each state
governments. The most famous option is Anna
University, which is controlled by Tamil Nadu
state government. Most of the best engineering
colleges in Chennai are controlled by Anna
University.
6Top private universities There are many private
autonomous universities all over the India, which
provide higher quality education. The only
drawback is fee could be much higher compared to
the government controlled institutes. Some of the
popular private universities are BITS, SRM, VIT,
etc., Foreign universities This option is only
for the people who can afford higher cost
education in foreign universities. Each country
and universities have different admission
procedure and criteria. If you get admission in
top universities in countries like USA, UK, the
quality of education will be much higher than the
IITs.
