Types of Charity Work
2
  • Charity work in Islam is of great significance.
As Islam teaches lessons of helping anyone who is
in need, charity work is an important part of any
    Muslims life.
  • It is one of the five pillars of Islam. In the
Holy Quran, Allah has stated that a person who
does charity work is welcomed in the heaven and
will be rewarded for his good deeds even in the
    afterlife.

  • Charity work is considered to be a part of Zakat
or farz or duty a devout Muslim is expected to
    follow in his life.
  • The holy Quran emphasizes that Muslim charity is
the purpose of mankind and should be carried
towards all creatures created by God, humans as
well as animals, without any expectation for
    rewards.

Types of Charity Work
  • The types of charity work a devout Muslim can
    perform are of various kinds.
  • Charity work should be carried as a non ending
series of good deeds. This is known as sadaqa
    jariya in Islam.
  • It is believed that a never ending chain of
charity work will be rewarded in the afterlife by
    Allah.

5
Charity through Voluntary Acts
  • Voluntary acts such as help in construction work
    for schools, mosques, hospitals, clinics,
    orphanages and wells.
  • Voluntary charity work can also be done by
helping in cleaning and maintaining these places
    for the benefit of others.
  • Physically involving oneself in such charity work
is said to bring him or her closer to each other
    and more importantly, Allah.

Financial Help to the Poor
  • There are a lot of people who suffer to make ends
meet. To extend a helping hand to such people is
also considered to be good deed of charity.
  • Providing financial help to poor and needy
families is considered to bring the mankind
closer together. Apart from giving money to the
needy, help can be given in kind.
  • For example, one can help a needy household with
their basic necessities such as food, clothing
    and shelter.

7
Sponsorship to the Needy and Deserving Candidates
  • A lot of children youth wish to study but are not
able to get good education or complete their
education due to lack of funds.
  • Sponsoring such children and youth is also a part
of the charity work a devout Muslim can perform.
  • Help can also be extended to youth who are eager
to work but fail to find an appropriate job.
  • Providing employment to such hardworking and
deserving candidates is also a part of charity.

Charity as a Part of School Education
  • What does the Islamic school near me teach the
    children?
  • A lot of parents wonder what does the curriculum
includes in the Islamic schools they put their
child in. The Islamic schools prepare children
for worldly as well as religious
    responsibilities.
  • Along with lessons on math, science, social
studies and languages, Islamic schools include
lessons to teach their students about Allah,
Islam, the Holy Quran and their responsibility as
    Muslims.
  • These lessons include the five pillars of Islam
Faith, Prayer, Charity, Fasting and Pilgrimage to
the Holy cities of Mecca and Madinah.
