Incident Reporting Procedures
  • Reporting procedures are an essential part of
    safety management.
  • You will not be able to regulate safety hazards
in the workplace if accidents, injuries and
safety threats are not brought to your attention.
  • Incidents that are reported should be
investigated for the cause of the incident, and
the company should come up with solutions for
making the environment safer to prevent
    reoccurrences.

3
Fire Safety Procedures
  • They requires employers to abide by particular
fire safety procedures, such as maintaining smoke
detectors and fire alarms that function properly
ensuring that aisles, passageways and escape
routes are not blocked or obstructed and seeing
to it that emergency exits are clearly identified
    in the building.

4
Security Procedures
  • Security procedures have to do with keeping
    employees safe from burglaries, violence,
break-ins and other criminal behaviors. Such
procedures require employees to abide by certain
    safety precautions.

5
Good Housekeeping
  • Good housekeeping procedures include addressing
slip and fall hazards by mopping up spills and
    leaks immediately after they happen.
  • You can avoid the spread of infectious diseases
by creating a procedure for cleaning and
disinfecting common areas, including break rooms.

6
Reporting Process
  • One of the ways to help get employees and
management involved together in the safety
procedures of your company is to implement a
    reporting process.
  • When employees see potential safety problems,
they should be trained to avoid trying to handle
    the problems on their own.
  • Employees should be aware of the safety company
reporting process, and report safety issues
    immediately.

7
Evacuation
  • When an emergency happens within your facility,
such as a fire or explosion, it is important for
everyone in the company to know the evacuation
    procedure.
  • Develop an evacuation procedure that covers
    everyone in the company.
  • Point out the closest emergency exit to each
department, and develop a set of procedures for
the safe evacuation of the building.

8
First Aid Kit
  • Well stocked first aid kits should be a part of
    any safety company program.
  • Place first aid kits in each work room, and have
a small first aid kit in every manager's office.
  • A first aid kit should contain sterilized
    bandages, medical adhesive tape, headache
    medication, antibacterial ointment, surgical
    gauze and over-the-counter pain medication.

9
  • Workplace safety procedures are designed to keep
employees, visitors and customers safe while
helping to reduce the stress associated with the
    work area.
  • Company management should take the time to
develop safety procedures at work that get the
entire staff involved in making company safety a
    priority.
