Introduction
  • Ill tell you five funny English expressions
    today.
  • Could English study be fun? I really do not want
to study since I was really young.
  • I can hardly study the words to memorize the
books and report books, but I still find funny
expressions, so I guess it is funny
  • Five expressions to learn today
  • Better half
  • Egghead
  • Soft soap
  • Bees knees
  • Childs play

4
Better half
  • It is not so beautiful. Talking about the
    better side of my half
  • It is a word used to describe husband or wife or
spouse. It sounds like a very romantic
    expression.
  • I have a wife and husband, but I have to say that
I respect my opponent a bit more! That is the
    expression.
  • Hey, please meet my better half, Amy. This is my
    spouse Amy.

5
Egghead
  • The second expression. Egg hair? What does that
mean?At first I had difficulty in predicting
what I meant by listening to this word. I have to
say something is not good and matches are bad.
  • Egghead has two meanings in English. First, the
so called Egghead means baldness. Do not expect
    enough? Reason like egg head!
  • And secondly, it is a spoken word. It refers to a
smart person, an intellectual. In the picture
above, you can use it like the example!
  • This expression was first written in the letter
of Carl Sandburg of the American writer in the
early 20th century. At first, it was used as a
    somewhat derogatory phrase.I mean it.

Soft Soap
  • The third expression. This expression can be
translated as a soft soap. Soft Soap!  The real
meaning is to flatter. Is not it surprising?
  • This expression is verbally used when it is used
idiomically, meaning to make candy in Korean.
Unusual? There is a nuance to get sympathy and
    information by promoting superiority!

8
Bees knees
  • Bees Knees! It is interpreted as a bees knee.
The bees are said to be the best of the bees
knees to collect pollen from their hairy trunks
    and legs.
  • Is not it a bit of a combination of words
    breaking common sense? Its funny.
  • Get a word of advice from your friends who are
having trouble around!Youre a bees knees! So
    cheer up! This

9
Childs play
  • I think its possible to match this word with
    enough words.
  • I am, uh When I first saw this expression, I
was playing with kids! I guess this means,
  • The real meaning is that it is as easy as it is,
or as a trivial thing Is not it a bit of a
combination of words breaking common sense? Its
    funny.
  • Its childs play to beat him.Winning that
    person is easy.
