1
8 Simple Home Remedies for Tooth Ache Pain
2
INTRODUCTION
  • A toothache is a pain in or around a tooth and
can be caused by various reasons such as tooth
decay, infection, gum disease, broken fillings or
    receding gums.
  • The pain can be mild to excruciating. Ignoring
the pain can result in a tooth loss.
  • See a dentist immediately to find out the
underlying cause of the pain and get the
    necessary treatment.

Home Remedies for a Toothache
  • Rinse your mouth with salt water to get temporary
pain relief. Saltwater is a natural disinfectant
    which reduces the inflammation.
  • Chew a clove of garlic or apply its paste to the
affected area to get relief from the pain. Garlic
has been known for its medicinal properties and
can also kill harmful bacteria that causes dental
    plaque.
  • Apply a small amount of clove oil to the affected
area to numb pain and reduce inflammation. Clove
contains eugenol which is a natural anaesthetic
and is considered the popular choice for tooth
    pain relief.
  • Use peppermint tea to soothe your toothache.
Peppermint contains menthol which has strong
anti-bacterial properties. You can either use
peppermint oil, tea bags or dried leaves.

Home Remedies for a Toothache
  • Use cold compression to relieve your toothache
pain. Applying cold reduces swelling and
    inflammation.
  • Apply Aloe Vera gel to the affected tooth and
massage it gently. The antibacterial qualities
found in Aloe Vera can also destroy germs and
    bacteria.
  • Rinsing your mouth with hydrogen peroxide can
also relieve pain and reduce inflammation.
However, make sure to properly dilute it before
    using and dont swallow it.
  • Make a turmeric paste by adding a teaspoon of
turmeric powder into a small amount of water and
apply it directly to the affected tooth to soothe
the pain. Curcumin present in turmeric has
    analgesic, antibacterial and antiseptic
properties and can also prevent infections.
