The psychology of colour is one of the trickiest
and most important aspect of persuasion in
marketing, branding and packaging. The same
colour could evoke different meanings ,
perception and emotional responses from an
individual to another based on his/her past
experience.

Packaging colour
  • The organization selects a colour to communicate
    their brand message and this colour is used in
    the labels and packaging.
  • Previous researches claim that packaging colour
    influences the purchasing behavior of consumers.
    According to studies, 90 of quick judgements
    about products are based on the colour alone.
    Nearly 85 of shoppers claim that the primary
    reason to purchase the product was due to the
    colour.

  • Red- Known to be fierce. It is associated with
    strength, warmth, excitement, passion and zeal.
    Eg Coca Cola, Netflix, Disney
  • Green- known to bring peace, sustainability, be
    soothing, harmony, restoration to mind and
    overall balance. Eg Starbucks, Subway
  • Yellow is extremely emotional and cheerful. Eg
    McDonalds
  • Black is often used in elegant, premium brands.
    Commonly mixed with white elements. Eg Apple,
    Puma
