Title: How Wire Marking Shifted From Markers To Lasers - Miracle Aerospace

1
With aircrafts becoming bigger and more complex,
manufacturers are looking for ways to make
things compact, simpler, and lighter. One element
that goes unnoticed when it comes to considering
the weight is the wires used. A single aircraft
has hundreds and thousands of wires running
across and these wires sum up to hundreds of
kilometers of length, so you can imagine the
mess they make and the weight they add to!
One way to make the entire system compact has
been to use cable assemblies that combine
similar wires into a single jacket, instead of
multiple individual wires. This not only makes
the airplane system neat, organized, and
compact, but also keeps the cables protected
against abrasion, wear and tear, moisture, and
other environmental factors. It also becomes easy
to maintain, repair, and replace these wires in
case of any fault. Now, with so many hundreds and
thousands of wires, it can become difficult to
identify one out of the lot, which may take lot
of time to detect, repair, and replace the wires.
This is why manufacturers came up with an idea
of marking these wires so that it becomes easy to
identify them almost immediately. While markings
have been done since a long long time, methods
have been modified now. Earlier when wires were
labeled, the markings werent as durable. The
marks would wear off with time due to the
environmental factors rubbing off on the wires.
But now,

with laser marking for aircraft cables
technologies, the marks are durable and last
longer, fighting against almost all odds. Lasers
can heat certain materials, which mechanically
and chemically modifies the visual aspect of the
material to create the marking. This procedure
can be used on various materials, even including
the materials used to make cable jackets. Several
parameters like the wavelength and power of
laser beam can be controlled to accommodate
several materials and applications. This makes
laser marking effective for a wide range of
materials. Laser marking can mark different
types of tracking codes and markings like
alphanumeric serial numbers and 2D
barcodes. Although laser marking is expensive as
compared to other methods of marking, the
long-lasting results make up for it. Unlike
other markings that deteriorate over time, and
require timely remakes, laser marking doesnt
require any kind of additional or recurrent
purchases, which makes them a profitable
long-term investment. In addition, the laser beam
size can be modified to allow even very tiny
markings with lots of details, the advantage that
cannot be achieved by any other marking system,
which makes up for the expensive price. In
addition, the marking speed is very high. All of
this makes laser marking the go-to solution when
a peak performance is required that delivers
high-density, precise, and long-lasting markings.
You can get in touch with Miracle Aerospace for
the best quality laser marking for aircraft
cables, where you can have any kind of cable
printed that ranges from Polyamide, Teflon,
Tezel, to ETFE and FEP. You can have all kinds
of characters, alphanumeric, and barcodes printed
on both single and multi core cables, with a
minimum of 6 inches of length up to an unlimited
maximum length.
